1. Pre-Make Up Skincare

The first step in your natural makeup routine is keeping your skin hydrated and cleansed. To do this, use a gentle face wash to clean away impurities and debris. Follow this up with a moisturizer. Clean and hydrated skin is the perfect start for a natural makeup look.

These simple yet important steps will remove excess oil and dead skin cells from your face, and create a clean, well-hydrated canvas for the rest of the products to work their magic!

2. Natural, Light Coverage

Even if we’re going for a minimal and natural look, some light coverage can work wonders in giving your face that silky finish, as well as conceal dark circles and blemishes without creating a “caked-on” makeup look.

For excellent light coverage, pick a tinted moisturizer or BB cream that’s non-greasy and closest to your skin color. This will keep your skin hydrated while also smoothing out your skin tone. To keep it even barer, you can just apply an illuminating primer that creates an even base while giving you a dewy look to your skin. Avoid floating head syndrome- don’t forget your neck!

3. Earthy Eyes

Playing up your eyes with a brown eyeliner and a dewy eye tint will highlight your peepers beautifully without getting too intense. If you have sparse eyebrows, fill them lightly with a brow pencil to lend them shape and definition.

If you’re not in the mood for a liner, then apply a double coat of mascara for brighter, bigger eyes. Remember to keep a light hand when doing your eye makeup, since bold eyebrows or a heavy liner can be a dealbreaker if we’re going for a natural makeup look.

4. Tinted Cheeks in Natural Tones

A delicate application of blush or highlighter can add a gorgeous dash of color to your natural look. We recommend going for subtle shades like rose, peach, soft pink, or a shade that’s closest to your natural ‘flushed’ skin.

Apply your blush or highlighter to the apple of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose. Then, keep blending it with a blush brush until you’re left with a subtle, evenly distributed shade. If you’re using a cheek stain, then dab a few drops on your cheek and blend them up with your fingers to the temple.

5. Glossy, Nude Lips

To add the final touch, sign off with a nude lip gloss, or a tinted lip color in subtle pink, peach, or nude tones. To make your lips appear plumper, it’s a good idea to gently exfoliate them with a scrub or a toothbrush before applying the gloss.
